Villemard’s Vision: 1910 Postcards Depict the Year 2000.
“In the years prior to the dawning of the new millenium, there was an intense exitement for what the year 2000 might hold for the world. Science fiction writers have long expressed their visions of the future in their work. H.G. Wells did so in The Time Machine, while George Orwell examined an altogether more dystopian future in Nineteen Eighty-Four. But less well known – and every bit as inspired – are French artist Villemard’s 1910 postcards showcasing his vision of Parisian life in the year 2000.”
Christmas tree, done!

As you may of heard The Vine’s third birthday was a 50s affair. Friends of The Vine donned their bowling and dancing shoes and made their way to Ocean Bowl in Falmouth. All the fun and flocks of the night were captured and can be viewed on The Vine’s Flickr profile above.
Last week we decided it was about time we have a house warming party in the form of an autumn BBQ. Luckily the weather held out and the evening was filled with pumpkin soup, burgers, mulled cider and of course crumble! At the end of the evening the house was well and truly warmed.

A few weeks ago now I attended a rather lovely event called Gylly Live, unsurprisingly at Gylly Beach in Falmouth. The highlight for me was poet Murray Lachlan Young. Here is a little sample of Mr Young’s work.

Dear Photograph, Even though I moved out of the house this year, it’s nice to be back and catch up on some much needed sleep… again. Isaac
